what to pack

 


As women prepare for their upcoming stay at Saint John'sl, they should reference the following list for items to pack:

 

Mothers-to-be should pack:

  • A nightgown
  • Undergarments
  • A robe and slippers
  • Toiletries and cosmetics
  • An extra change of clothes to wear home.
  • A nursing bra, if mom is planning on breastfeeding
  • Music if it will help mom relax   

Expectant moms will also need to bring items for the new baby. When packing, please include:

  • Newborn outfit
  • Receiving blanket
  • Large blanket
  • Hat
  • Socks or booties

It is not necessary to bring diapers or feeding supplies as these will be provided by the health center.

 

If the father-to-be or anyone else is planning to stay overnight at Saint John’s, they should pack sleepwear, such as pajamas and a robe, toiletries, as well as a change of clothing. Snacks and bottled water are also recommended.

 

Please leave money and valuables, such as expensive jewelry, at home.

    In the life of any family, there is little to compare with the birth of a new baby.  Because this is a joyous and exciting time filled with great change, Saint John’s Health Center believes in early preparation.

    Women should complete the Saint John’s pre-registration form two months before their due date.
