While urinary incontinence is not classified as a disease, it may indicate an underlying problem or condition requiring treatment. A thorough evaluation by a doctor can help determine what is causing incontinence.  Women can have varying degrees of incontinence—from temporary to persistent.  Incontinence can also be caused by medical conditions.
