If there are other children in the house, it is important to bring them to the hospital to visit mom and the new baby. Some competition for attention and jealousy can be expected as siblings learn to accept the new family member. Moms can help the situation by spending private time with the other children and involve siblings as “good helpers” in the care of their brother or sister.
